Service Opportunities

Al-Anon's Twelfth Step suggests we, "carry this message to others. . . ." We do this through service to relatives and friends of alcoholics. Service work can take many different forms, such as sharing one's story at a meeting, making a telephone call to reach out to a member, setting up coffee at a meeting, or contributing time at the Service Center answering phones or stuffing mail. Training is available for phone duties at the Service Center.

The Al-Anon Service Center amended its bylaws on July 26, 2014 (read bylaws).

Service Opportunities: The Falls Church/McLean/Vienna District is in search of a district representative. Prerequisite is current or previous service as a group representative (GR). If interested, contact your GR or Darren at 571-230-6087 or Mari at 703-642-8408.

The Service Center is looking for help with three open volunteer positions. Please contact us if you're interested in serving as secretary, group records coordinator, or online communications volunteer.

Service Outreach: Present Al-Anon purposes, services, goals, a quick overview of the Al-Anon Twelve Steps & Traditions and share your personal Al-Anon story at family member meetings at CATS (Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services) at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital Gallows Road Campus. Meetings last for one hour and are held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday night and every Saturday morning. If interested, contact us.
